Meet Jess: Our New Pelvic Health OT

(and Your New Biggest Cheerleader)

ree

Big news—Webb PT is growing! We’re thrilled to welcome a new clinician to the team this August. Meet Jess Reed , a pelvic health occupational therapist who brings deep compassion, relatable humor, and an unwavering belief in better care for women.

We’re pretty sure you’re going to love her as much as we already do.

Why Pelvic Health?

For Jess, pelvic health care is about more than muscles and Kegels—it’s about helping people return to the parts of life they love. As an OT, she’s long been drawn to the everyday things that matter: toileting, intimacy, playtime with your kids, hobbies that bring you joy. She’s seen firsthand how bowel and bladder dysfunction disrupts people’s lives—and she’s here to say, you don’t have to live like that.

“I’ve heard so many women talk about how urinary leakage is ‘normal’ after having children, and I’ve always been disappointed that we accept that and don’t expect better. For me, it was about health advocacy and helping women realize they deserve more.”

Her Approach? Safe, Supportive, and Maybe a Little Silly

If you’ve ever hesitated to bring up a symptom—or worried something was “TMI”—Jess gets it. But her motto is simple:

“TMI means tell me immediately.”

She brings warmth, empathy, and a no-judgment zone to every session, with a deep understanding of how personal pelvic health can be. Whether you’re ready to dive in or just starting to open up, she’ll meet you where you are.

A Few Favorite Wins

Sometimes the progress comes quickly—like the patient who arrived wearing multiple incontinence briefs a day and, just two visits later, didn’t need pads at all.

Other times, healing takes a little longer. Jess shared about a patient who trusted her with a deeply emotional experience, working together to build confidence, strength, and self-trust. Both outcomes were equally powerful.

Outside the Clinic

Originally from the tiny town of Burlington, KS (population: 2.5 stoplights), Jess moved to Lawrence for undergrad at KU—and never looked back. She loves hiking (especially when she can escape the Kansas flatlands), reading, and baking what she lovingly calls “hideous but delicious” treats.

If she wasn’t an OT, she’d probably be diving into nutrition or teaching high school Home Ec, sweet tooth and all.

Advice for New Patients

“Don’t think you have to live with your current symptoms. Don’t feel bad about taking care of yourself. And don’t be scared—we’ve truly seen it all.”

Please join us in giving a big, warm welcome to Jess! She’s here to help you feel more confident, more supported, and more like you.
